The successful candidate will be selected by a committee of academics appointed by the Society, on a competitive basis that will take into account the quality of the project proposed, the student’s previous qualifications and the relevant supervision/resources provided by the student’s chosen university (information about these must be supplied by applicants).
An Officer of the Society will endorse the Academic Committee’s choice.
Payments will be made to the individual applicant (of up to £5000), subject to official confirmation of a university place and the student’s satisfying the university’s own annual progress checks (holders of the bursary must supply full information here).
A paper based on the research being done should be delivered to the Society once the award recipient feels their research has progressed to a suitable stage for this (the Society’s assistance must be acknowledged in any publications resulting from the research we are partly funding).
